A year after its launch, the
state's Commonwealth Solar rebate program is on track to more
than double Massachusetts' solar power capacity, according to
the state's Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
"If we don't get another
application for Commonwealth Solar for this year, but just install
what has been applied for to date, we'll have 15 megawatts of
installed solar power by the end of 2009," said spokesman
Robert Keough. Currently, the state has 7.2 megawatts of solar
power up and running.
Governor Deval Patrick has set
a goal to install 250 megawatts of solar power by 2017.
